Hermitage in Beacon New York
Between December 2007 and June 2009 Hermitage was run out of a small house in Beacon New York, 60 miles north of New York City. The structure was alongside two coal silos, with a defunct railroad track in back of, and within close distance of Mt. Beacon. Here the framework was set for an ongoing living experience known as Hermitage. Some people made the trek to see the space here. Others heard about it, and many failed to come at all. It has since moved on to a new location. The following photos give a sense of what that space was, and some of the things that went on there.
